Song of the Hiawatha

Outside of going to Spring Training back in March, I've been a fairly local traveler when it's come to Baseball Road Trips. Long  Beach, San Diego, and Palm Springs are certainly no slouch of a Road Trip, and it's a testament to there being so much baseball here in Southern California all-year round. However, a true Baseball Road Trip is getting outside of that comfort zone of routine. While routine is fun, nothing can quite compare to the adventure of a new city or new state. Luckily, for the past few months, I've been saving every dime that I can, and  pleased to announce a Baseball Road Trip that will be one for the ages.

The "Hiawatha" trip, as I have called it, will see me go to two new cities and two new ballparks, and make a return to a city and stadium. My trip will start out by flying out of Ontario to Minneapolis to see my hometown Angels on the road at Target Field play the Minnesota Twins. The next day, I'm going to Greyhound it the six hours to Milwaukee to see the Brewers host the Reds at Miller Park. Finally, I'll take the train from Milwaukee down to Chicago to make a return trip, hopefully minus the rainout, to Wrigley Field to see the Cubs play the Cardinals.

While in these three cities, I plan on utilizing the bike shares to really ride around and explore. I am also going to week out new breweries around the cities. As you can see, I'm going to keep up some of my auxiliary routines that I very much enjoy when it comes to Baseball Road Trips. I'll also be forced to take public transportation in all three cities, so it will definitely have the "A.J. Stamp" on the experience.

I'll post a more detailed itinerary as the date of my departure comes closer. Suffice to say, it will be an amazing trip, and I can't wait for it!

I was planning on redoing the 66ers Road Trip 3 back up to the High Desert this weekend. If you remember, the last time I went up there, the game rained out in that freak July storm. However, this weekend, I'm going to sit out the trip for almost the opposite reason. It's supposed to be 115-degrees in Adelanto on Saturday, and sitting through a doubleheader just really isn't high on my list of things to do. On Sunday, though, I'll be doing Dodgers Game 3 in LA. It's only supposed to be 93-degrees in LA that day, so it will be a little more tolerable.

Always take on a 3-0 pitch ;)
