Partner in Crime

After a few weeks of abnormal Baseball Road Trips, this weekend I snap back into the normal routine of 66ers and Angels game. However, I am pleased to announce that I will be joined by my good friend from Oregon who is coming down for the weekend. We have a lot of fun planned, and I am so grateful to finally have someone join me on what has become such a key part of Baseball Road Trips.

I'm picking my friend up from the airport later on this morning, and we are going to head straight to Newport Beach. We'll spend the day at the beach, and I'll show her around Newport and the different sights I have experienced.

Saturday will see us head into LA on the train. I bought us tickets to see the Space Shuttle Endeavor, but before that, I'm going to take her on a walking tour of downtown of all the sights I've identified while on my bike rides up to Dodger Stadium. Olvera Street, the Financial District, and down through the Arts District is where I am familiar with. There's plenty of cool things to see down there, and I hope she'll have fun.

Saturday night we'll hit up the 66ers game. I got her a ticket that allows her to go in the season ticket gate, so we'll both get an Albert Pujols Garden Gnome. This is her first Minor League Ballpark outside of Eugene, and San Manuel Stadium is a great place to go first.

I've begun volunteering at the local bike repair co-op in Redlands on my free time during the week. They were nice enough to lend me a bike for the weekend, and my friend and I will do the bike ride to the Angels game. We're going to start from the Orange station so I can show her my favorite haunts in downtown Orange and the Santa Ana Trail. While we won't do my normal six-mile ride from Anaheim Canyon, we'll see plenty of cool stuff.

The Angels will roll out Tyler Skaggs while the Mariners will counter with Chris Young.

We have a free day on Monday, so I'll take her down to Temecula where we'll do some wine tasting.

It should be a fun, fun weekend and I can't wait to finally share some of the great things I've experienced with someone else.

Always take on a 3-0 pitch ;)
